Personal bankruptcies increase 7% in Hamilton during the first three months of 2006

In statistics released by the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy, the number of personal bankruptcies and consumer proposals filed in Hamilton, Ontario increased by 7% in the first three months of 2006, as compared to the same period in 2005.

In the first three months of 2005 428 Hamilton residents filed a personal bankruptcy or consumer proposal. That number increased to 459 Hamiltonians during the months of January, February and March, 2006.
