I Need Help - What will happen when I meet with a Hamilton trustee to discuss personal bankruptcy?

Posted on Wednesday, November 23, 2005

At Hoyes, Michalos & Associates Inc. we pride ourselves on personal service. At our Hamilton office all appointments are conducted by one of our personal bankruptcy professionals. You will either meet with me, Douglas Hoyes, my partner Ted Michalos, Scott Schaefer, CA, or Susan Jung, MBA. We all have many years of insolvency experience, and will meet with you individually to work out a plan to deal with your debts.

Everyone's situation is different; no single solution works for everyone, so the purpose of our initial meeting is to meet with you to understand your unique situation, and to develop an action plan to deal with your debt problems (that's why our phone number is 310-PLAN).

We will ask you who you owe money to, what you own, and what you earn and spend each month. The more information you can bring to the meeting the better, because with complete information we can start working on the action plan at our very first meeting.

We will discuss debt consolidation, credit counselling, consumer proposals, and personal bankruptcy.

We will give you the opportunity to ask lots of questions, so it's a good idea to make a list of your questions before the meeting, so we can answer all of your questions.

Once your questions are answered we will give you a copy of our information package with some brochures you can read; you can then go home and read through the material, and decide on your next step.

We will never pressure you into making a decision. Our professionals understand that financial problems are stressful, so our job is to explain all of your options. You can then decide which option is best for you, at your own speed.

Feel free to e-mail us or give our Hamilton office a call at (905) 777-0770 or 310-PLAN if you have any questions, or to set up your first no charge consultation.
